Currently there are just a handful of t-shirts stores that cater to the Indian market that is one of the biggest markets in the world. Some of the factors this we could think of were, Lack or entrepreneurship, perception that Indian consumers wont buy online and probably a lot more. But things are changing soon, as markets evolve they are getting more and more competitive.

Innovation and Customer appeal is where this industry is heading to. At the end of the day major players have more or less the same quality of basic t-shirt and print and offer t-shirts at more or less the same price. How does one get ahead in this race. On both the places there was a lack of innovation and creativity. Most of the online stores just carried copies of t-shirts available on US online stores. The retailers were happy copying established western brands” He goes on to explain how copycats of famous western brands mass produce and sell t-shirts for very low margins. The weak link in this chain is the relevance of the western designs to the Indian market. One of the major Indian brand Tantra has India specific t-shirts, but most of the designs are a tourists perception of Indian culture.
