Not a good idea to use a brick as has been suggested – they can crumble after a time and loose bits in the system is not good news. Much better to use the filled container as in the video and it definitely saves water (and money if you have a water meter like me).

Ahh… just buy a water tank that has a button to flush for as long as you want. You push it, the water comes, if you do not push it, than it is closed. Or the other version: pushing it releases water, and pushing it to the other side closes waterflow. These ooooooold tanks are water consuming beasts, either you put a milk jug in there or not. With the newer ones you can use less for pee, more for a crap… That’s all folks!

20 years ago, the brainless and idiotic environmentalists gave us government-mandated low-flow flush toilets, which take 2-3 flushes to clear the bowl, using far more water than the original toilets. So now they want us to displace another 1/2 gallon of water so we can flush 4-6 times for each use of the toilet??? This is about as stupid as it gets.
