I think the silver in the water pitcher is a great idea. Do you think the oxidation might actually be mineral-deposits instead?

The danger confusion is probably something to do with colloidal silver. Your method doesn’t add silver to the water, it’s only disinfecting it.

Also I upgraded my Brita to a Berkey stainless steel water filter. They even have a second-stage filter that removes fluoride.

The Multi-use Systems are the stainless steel ones that use the black-berkey filter for the primary stage.

Note that the secondary filters slow the filtering time. The more filters you install, the faster the filtering will be.

There should be no problem putting the silver in your water container, though you may want to use the Canadian Maple Leaf silver coins. The Maple Leafs are .9999 pure silver, the purest silver coin on the market. Silver Eagles and other bullion are .999 silver which may be close enough but there are still some impurities. The Maple Leafs may oxidize at a faster rate. Another money saving tip is to buy bulk fruit and vegetables and dehydrate them for later use.
